Why do Braillists choose the ALVA Satellite?
Each ALVA Satellite Braille display combines enhanced ergonomic design with powerful functionality. Features including twin satellite key pads, double touch cursors, status cells, and speech feedback activation are designed to provide simple and alternative ways in which to work more productively. The spacious front panel thumb keys allow the user to control the Braille line across the computer screen.

Twin Satellite Keypads
Every ALVA Satellite features two unique keypads enabling the Braillist to issue reading, navigation and related commands directly from the Braille display. These are used to easily navigate through complex graphical screens and for the user to provide instructions for speech feedback without having to press any of the keys on the computer keyboard.
Double Touch Cursors
The user has complete control of the cursor - double touch cursors, situated above each Braille cell enable the Braillist to position the cursor to a specific point within a line of text. The second row of touch cursor switches can be used to ask for speech feedback or to simulate left and right mouse clicks.
Flexible Status Cells
Imagine being able to read a line of text and determine the status of each character (e.g. font attributes). Three status cells which can be placed on the extreme left or right of the Braille line provide additional information relating to text attributes displayed within other reading cells, the braille display focus position on the screen, and icon attributes.
The ALVA Satellite series is available in three different models:
ALVA 544 Satellite Traveller
The mobile Braillist will find the slim and lightweight ALVA 544 fits perfectly beneath a laptop PC and draws power from either the computer or, rechargeable batteries that offer up to 15 hours of continuous use. There are 44 piezoelectric Braille cells on-board and 4 navigation front keys.
