International Sales Manager
Optelec, based in Barendrecht, is the leading distributor, designer and manufacturer of life-changing assistive technology for people who are visually impaired and dyslexic, with a multi-tier distribution in more than 60 countries and sales offices in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Canada and the United States.

International Sales Manager (full time)
Optelec is looking for an international sales manager to grow our international business and expand our distribution network. The international sales manager will deal with existing and possibly new dealerships in several different countries. He/she will work closely with the existing international sales manager and will report to the CEO.
The key capabilities for this function are:

The candidate proactively thinks along with the customer in a creative manner to constantly come up with new ideas to further grow the business together.
Winner’s mentality
The candidate is assertive, not afraid of confrontations and has the ability to take control of the conversation. An initial “no” is the starting point for further discussion. He/she wants to succeed! The candidate has a proven track record in growing their business.
Communication skills
The candidate has excellent communication skills, particularly in English, and is comfortable and experienced in doing business in different cultures. He/she has the capability to create strong long-term win-win relationships.
Further profile aspects are:
- Good capabilities in Dutch, French and German
- Excellent analytical skills
- Affinity with Optelec type of products and industry
- Preferably a technological and commercial background
- At least 10 years of B-to-B sales experience, preferably in optical products (e.g. glasses), medical devices, or hearing aids.
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Living preferably in the region of Barendrecht The Netherlands
We offer a good remuneration of which a substantial portion depends on reaching targets.

Stagiair Marketing
Stage marketing bij internationaal bedrijf
Optelec, wereldmarktleider op het gebied van technologische producten voor blinden en slechtzienden is op zoek naar een stagiair of afstudeerder voor een periode van 4 tot 6 maanden.
Het hoofdkantoor van Optelec bevindt zich in Barendrecht, waar tevens de product ontwikkeling- en internationale marketing afdelingen gevestigd zijn.
Vanuit het hoofdkantoor worden de producten voor onze doelgroep ontwikkeld. Deze producten worden in verschillende landen via onze eigen vestigingen of dealers verkocht. Optelec heeft eigen vestigingen in Nederland, Engeland, Duitsland, België, Canada en de VS.
Om extra aandacht aan marketing te geven is Optelec op zoek naar een stagiair die hierbij kan helpen. De hoofdtaken voor deze stage zijn:
- Het coördineren en creëren van marketing materialen, die door de verschillende landenorganisaties gebruikt kunnen worden. Denk hierbij aan brochures, leaflets, video’s en dergelijke.
- Het assisteren bij productintroducties van nieuwe producten.
- Het assisteren bij een nieuwe website die in 7 landen waar Optelec eigen vestigingen heeft zal worden geïmplementeerd gedurende 2012.
- Het assisteren bij de uitvoering van marktonderzoek, zowel ten aanzien van de doelgroep als ten aanzien van producten en de wijze waarop klanten deze ervaren.
Er kan spoedig met de opdracht begonnen worden. Wij geven een stagevergoeding van €350,- per maand aangevuld met reisonkostenvergoeding. Daarnaast heb je als stagiair uiteraard beschikking over een volledige werkplek op het hoofdkantoor in Barendrecht.
