Product Return & Repair

RMA BoxPlease save all packaging and accessories for any item that is returned to Optelec. All original equipment, components, manuals, cables, documents and packaging must be returned with your item in order for Optelec to process your RMA. An item returned for a replacement may be repaired or replaced at Optelec’s discretion, unless otherwise required by law. Products with specific refund and return policies must be returned within the time periods specified for each item. All items sold through Optelec are subject to our Policy and Agreement. Physically damaged items beyond normal wear and tear cannot be returned.

All returns for a refund are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Removal or alteration of a product’s serial number will automatically void any warranty, also causing the product will to be ineligible for return and will be returned to you.

RMA Options

You may only select one type of RMA (refund or replacement) per RMA request. If you have one product you wish to return for a refund and another product from the same order that you wish to return for a replacement, you will need to submit two separate RMA requests.

RMA Refund

An RMA refund is a request for a refund of the purchase price. If the product you wish to return is defective, you may only request an RMA repair. If you are unable to select Refund as your RMA type, it is because the product you wish to return is either ineligible for a refund or is beyond the allowed time frame for a refund. When returning a product you must put the RMA number on the outside of the box. All RMA refunds are subject to a 15% restocking fee. If you wish to request an RMA for an item you purchased as part of a combo or bundle special, you’ll need to return all items within that particular combo / bundle special.

RMA Replacement

If you receive a defective item and would like to exchange it for a replacement of the same make and model, select RMA Replacement. Most of our products can be returned within 30 days of the original invoice date. Please note that all packing materials, manuals, diskettes, CDs, digital media, blank warranty cards and other accessories and/or documentation must be included in the original packaging, as provided by the manufacturer, for your return to be processed. When returning a product you must put the RMA number on the outside of the box.

Service Procedure

Although every effort has been made to ensure that products are free from any defects, it is important to note that limited maintenance on Optelec products is necessary during the product lifetime to ensure propor functionality. In case of repair, Optelec products may be serviced by Optelec authorized personnel only. This may be done locally at the distributor’s offices worldwide.

Warranty Terms

This following describes the warranty conditions for Optelec’s product range and is effective as of November 2007 for all internationally distributed products produced and developed by Optelec.

Optelec warranty conditions: Optelec warrants their products to be free of any defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years after purchase. Warranty is not tarnsferable and does not apply to groups, multi users or agencies. Optelec’s products have been designed for the individual purchaserto be used in home and office environment. Optelec reserves the right to repair or replace any purchased product with a similar or better product. Serveral products require regular servicing for optimal performance; this information is included in the User Manual of each product. The warranty does not apply to defects caused by transportation, accidents, natural disasters, vandalism, improper use, incorrect maintenance or repair through a non-authorized service center. This warranty also excludes those parts that are subject to wear. In no event shall Optelec or its distributors be liable for indirect or consequential damages. The original user’s remedies are limited to replacement of Optelec prodcuts. Optelec warranty is valid only when serviced in the country of original purchase and with intact seals. For additional warranty claims or service during or after warranty period, refer to Optelec’s head office. Optelec takes no responsibility for use of products other than described in the product’s respective User and Service Manuals. When returning a product you must put the RMA number on the outside box.
