Launched at the Sight Village London exhibition, on 4 November, 2008, the FarView is the first in a series of significant new Optelec products to be launched for the benefit of low vision people.

Designed to offer so much more than a hand-held video magnifier, the FarView offers the capability to capture and enlarge images - even those taken at a distance, appear clearer when enlarged.


Enjoy effortless, continuous reading
Use the FarView as a live video magnifier for easier reading and writing.  Alternatively, capture, store and enlarge images for easier reading whenever convenient.  Position the FarView over a newspaper or magazine and capture an entire page. At the press of a button, the image can be enlarged to a more comfortable reading size.  Ergonomic scrolling buttons help the user to navigate through any text or document easily and comfortably, whereas the auto-scroll function brings the user back to the beginning of the text line within a snap.


Clearer distance viewing
Imagine being able to see what time your train is leaving. Use the FarView to capture and enlarge travel information displayed on a live “Departures” board.  The captured image appears clear, even when enlarging and reading.


Enjoy PC connectivity
Capture and store up to 100 images and view them on the built-in screen. Alternatively, transfer and view them on your PC.

FarView offers real innovation in design. Carry it with you for studying or working anywhere. Use the FarView to access information around you - read in close proximity, or at a distance – from a whiteboard or presentation.
