Enjoy Split-Screen in glorious HD and never lose sight of the mouse pointer!
Meeting the demands of today's low vision students and professionals
Imagine using a single low vision workstation, bringing together the functionality of the PC in combination with the facility to reference magnified text books and paper documents.
Historically, the solution for many low vision students and professionals has been to use a video magnifier for reading materials and use a PC with screen magnification software. However, content viewed from both the PC and video magnifier was by means of using two individual monitors (consuming valuable desk space), or having a single screen – the latter scenario made possible using more expensive and less responsive split-screen video magnifier cameras.
Split-screen functionality explained Viewing a PC image and a printed document magnified by a video magnifier on a single screen enables those with low vision to read and interpret data from printed documents whilst writing a report, or completing online tax programs whilst viewing the paper receipts. The process of combining the image signal from the PC and Video Magnifier is known as Split-Screen, eliminating the need to use two separate monitors.
Introducing the Optelec TwinView
The Optelec TwinView low vision screen eliminates the need for multiple screens, harnessing the power of the latest powerful video magnifiers – including those with high definition cameras.
Connect the PC and Video Magnifier to the Optelec TwinView monitor and view images from either device in full screen mode, toggling between both at the press of a button. Alternatively, using the NEW True Split-Screen functionality, combine and view both images from the PC and Video Magnifier by choosing one of four configurations and never lose sight of the mouse pointer.
Experience Split-Screen in High Definition Amazingly, the Video Magnifier no longer needs to have a special split-screen camera, which is often a more expensive option. The Optelec TwinView low vision monitor provides the split-screen capability, making all the adjustments automatically, and when connected to a high definition video magnifier (such as the ClearView+ HD Colour) ensures the best possible image is displayed at a superior resolution (1920 x1080 pixels) in either full or split-screen. Users can also fine-tune the display of the TwinView using the on-board large font menu.
Essentially, the Optelec TwinView low vision monitor is the first screen designed for use by visually impaired people. The generous 24-inch wide angle viewing area and fast response time makes it ideal for users of magnification and high contrast. The unique true split-screen functionality and automatic set-up empowers those with low vision to study, work and compete more effectively within the mainstream environment.
Choose your preferred Optelec TwinView configuration
TwinView mounted in-line with the PC Students and professionals with low vision tend to use their PC more than their video magnifier. Positioning the TwinView screen in close proximity to the PC keyboard and mouse is made possible with either the height-adjustable, free-standing desktop stand (included) or a proprietary ergonomic monitor arm.
The desktop video magnifier such as the Optelec ClearView+ or Sentry can be positioned to the side of the PC.
TwinView mounted in-line with the Video Magnifier As an alternative, the TwinView monitor can be positioned on a standard monitor arm mounted in line with the Optelec ClearView+. This configuration favours those using their video magnifier for significant periods of time – either for reading or writing.
