Eligibility
To be eligible for contributions, organizations must:
• Qualify for nonprofit status under the Internal Revenue Code
• Benefit the local visually impaired communities served by Optelec
• Demonstrate sound and responsible financial policies and management
• Satisfy Optelec that the project is not an unnecessary duplication
As a rule, we do not make contributions for:
• Unrestricted operating funds of organizations projects of a political nature
• Pageants or talent competitions
• Religious organizations for sectarian purposes
• Loans or investments
• Team sponsorships or fundraising competitions
• Merchandise promotions
• Conferences or conventions
• Event underwriting
