Chelmsford, MA - Today, the Optelec Group formally announced that last week it began to globally ship its EasyLink solution to its seven sales offices and extensive, world-wide distribution network. EasyLink is the first wireless BlueTooth Braille keyboard on the market that allows the end user to access an off-the-shelf PDA with the Windows Mobile operating system either through its EasyLink software or via the soon to be released Pocket Hal screenreader being developed by Dolphin Computer Access. The EasyLink keyboard also wirelessly connects to a cellular phone to interact with phones equipped with the MobileSpeak cellular phone screenreader.

Were truly pleased to be shipping EasyLink to all of our sales outlets throughout the world, stated Michiel Van Schaik, Chief Executive Officer of the Optelec Group. Because of the open architecture of EasyLink, Optelecs resellers will be able to customize this product for their markets in an expedient and responsible manner.

Its great to be on a team whose priority is to provide a direct link to the mainstream, stated Larry Lewis, Vice President of Blindness Products Sales, Optelec USA. EasyLink is the first in a series of steps that Optelec has taken to make this desire a tangible reality for those of us who are blind.
